Graffer, your new hideaway among the apple orchards of Bolzano

Following nature’s rhythm, with the city close at hand

One moment you’re in the lively heart of Bolzano, discovering its sights or strolling beneath the historic arcades; the next, you’re cycling through apple orchards, setting off on foot or heading up into the mountains beyond. However you choose to spend the day, there are sweeping views, new discoveries and moments that linger long after the holiday is over.

And Bolzano? It goes far beyond Waltherplatz square and the Ötzi Museum. Colourful, diverse and full of character, it’s a city made to be explored – and savoured.

Fresh mountain air included

At Graffer, farm holidays come with a little bit of everything: walking and cycling, slowing down and enjoying honest flavours straight from the farm. Join us for an apple juice tasting or come along on a guided walk through the orchards.

From the apple trees and palm-lined streets of Bolzano, it’s only a short way to the mountains. Alpine huts, rushing streams, mountain lakes and, in autumn, crystal-clear views stretching far into the distance are all waiting to be explored. Whether you’re chasing summits, hiking for the food or heading out with the family, there’s no shortage of routes to choose from. And the Dolomites? Perfectly doable as a day trip from here.

Dolce vita, Bolzano style

Around here, life happens outdoors. Jump on your bike and head straight into town: the cycle path and footpath pass right by the farm and lead you directly into the centre of Bolzano. Easy, sustainable – and a pretty enjoyable way to arrive.

Need a few ideas? We’re always happy to point you towards our favourite places in Bolzano and beyond. Stop for a gelato, linger over an aperitif, enjoy a great dinner or wander through the old town. And in between, there are museums, sights and plenty of unexpected corners to discover.

Bolzano flavours, with a hint of Casanova

Wander through the centre of Bolzano and you’re never far from something delicious. Hidden among its streets and alleyways are bars, restaurants and cafés where Italian charm blends naturally with South Tyrolean joie de vivre. Be sure to stop at the celebrated fish stalls for a bruschetta along the way. Local flavours are everywhere. Obstplatz square has been home to its colourful fruit and vegetable market for some 500 years, while just next door a chocolate shop occupies a historic house that once welcomed Casanova.

And there’s more to discover on the city’s farmers’ market days. Back at Grafferhof, our own farm shop brings things even closer to home, with produce straight from the farm.

A wander around the Christmas market

Bolzano has a personality all of its own – steeped in history, but always full of life. And that’s just as true in winter as it is in summer. During Advent, the area around Bolzano Cathedral becomes one of the city’s liveliest festive meeting points as the famous Christmas market, the Christkindlmarkt, gets under way.

Stroll between the wooden huts, have a browse, sample a few treats and perhaps pick up a present or two. One thing to know: the centre gets busy during the Christmas market, so a little love of festive hustle and bustle certainly helps. But that’s all part of the experience.

And when you’ve had enough of the crowds, Graffer is waiting – peaceful, green and away from the city-centre buzz.

Thoughtfully designed, down to the smallest detail

They say good things take time. From the first idea to the day, we opened our doors, we poured plenty of passion, inspiration and new ideas into our apartments – but above all, a great deal of time.
